Frequently Asked Questions
What do you need from me to quote?
Origin (Hong Kong / Shenzhen / Shanghai), destination in Greece/EU, HS code(s), Incoterm with your supplier, weight/volume (kg/m³), goods description and invoice value. Supplier address and preferred mode (Air or Sea LCL) help us quote faster.
What is included in your DDP price?
Pickup (if requested), main freight, import customs clearance in Greece, duties & VAT, and last-mile delivery to your address. Storage, remote-area, re-delivery or special handling are extra when applicable.
DDP vs DAP vs CIF/FOB — what’s the difference?
DDP: we handle freight, clearance, duties & VAT, and delivery. DAP: the receiver pays duties/VAT on arrival. CIF/FOB are supplier terms; we can convert to DDP on our side.
Typical transit times from Asia to Greece?
- Hong Kong → Athens (Air): 3–6 days
- Shenzhen → Athens (Air): 4–7 days
- Hong Kong / Shanghai → Piraeus (Sea LCL): 22–34 days
Windows depend on space, cut-offs and seasonality. Ask for the current sailing/flight options.
Which shipment sizes do you support?
From small parcels to pallets. Air works best for urgent or light cargo; Sea LCL is economical from ~1–2 m³+ or heavier weights. We’ll advise the optimal mode based on cost vs time.
How are duty and VAT calculated?
They depend on the HS code and the customs value (invoice value + freight + insurance where applicable). With DDP we include duties & VAT in one total figure so you know the landed cost in advance.
Who is the Importer of Record? Can I reclaim VAT?
Importer of Record is designated per shipment; we can guide you through the process. For VAT-registered businesses, import VAT may be reclaimable subject to local tax rules—please consult your tax advisor.
What documents do you need to start?
Commercial invoice, packing list, HS code(s), shipper & consignee details, and—if required—product compliance documentation for EU (e.g., CE, RoHS, MSDS for lithium batteries).
Do you help with HS classification and compliance?
Yes, we review your descriptions and suggest HS codes based on publicly available guidance. Final responsibility for correct classification remains with the shipper/importer.
What items are restricted or not accepted?
We handle general commercial/consumer goods. Restricted or not accepted without pre-approval: dangerous goods (Class 1–9), lithium batteries without UN38.3, liquids and chemicals, pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, counterfeit or IP-restricted goods.
Can you consolidate multiple suppliers in Asia?
Yes. We can receive goods from different suppliers (Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai), consolidate, ship under one DDP lot, and deliver together—reducing cost and paperwork.
Packaging & labelling requirements
Shipper should provide export-ready packaging and correct labels/barcodes. We can advise or arrange repacking/palletization on request.
How do tracking and delivery proof work?
We provide milestone updates (pickup, departure, customs, out for delivery) and Proof of Delivery when available. Contact us for live status at any time.
Returns, failed delivery and storage
If delivery fails after reasonable attempts, storage and re-delivery charges may apply. Return-to-origin can be arranged at cost.
Payment terms & currencies
Bank transfer in EUR (USD on request). For new accounts, prepayment/deposit may apply; for repeat shippers we can discuss account terms.
Which Incoterms do you work with at origin?
EXW, FCA, FOB and CIF are all fine—we’ll pick up at the right point and convert to DDP for you.
Do you offer shipment insurance?
Yes, insurance is available on request based on declared value and coverage needs.
How do I start a booking?
Send us the quote details (origin/destination, HS, weight/volume, value). We confirm price & schedule, then share pickup labels and instructions. That’s it.
